Expeirence says Made in Taiwan is probably okay. made in China just sort of depends on who made it.

Maybe you'll get lucky like I have been so far. Approximately 15 years ago I rebuilt the Kohler engine on one of my Cub Cadet mowers with "made in Taiwan" parts, including the piston and rod. They were all I could afford at the time and I always planned to redo it later, but never have. It's still running today after many years of hard usage.
